..for the next several years! I learned about Tony’s quest from a friend on Facebook. You see, Tony doesn’t have anywhere to sleep at night, since that would be pretty much impossible to arrange on the road, so we offered to host him for two nights.
When we thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail many people did the same for us, so we like to pay the favor forward. Tony (who happens to be a multiple world record holder) covers an amazing number of miles everyday; usually around 30, so not only does he need places to stay, he needs lots and lots of food! I love to cook, especially for someone who is so hungry! We also introduced him to the Maine Whoopie Pie, which he was very fond of! When you exercise day in and day out you can never take in enough calories to equal your output. Just like thru-hikers, Tony is always famished.
We dropped in off in Kittery, Maine a few days ago, so I too a few photos of him going on his merry way. Keep track of his progress at The World Jog, and if you’re on his route I’m sure he’d be thrilled with a bed, a shower and a hot meal!
