Taylor and Clifford’s Cape Porpoise wedding, and Kennebunk River Club, Kennebunport, Maine reception

Taylor and Clifford chose Kennebunkport for their Maine destination wedding this past Saturday, and what perfect choice it was! Their ceremony was held at the adorably tiny Church on the Cape, in Cape Porpoise, Maine where we also met up for pre-ceremony photos. I don’t think you could get any more classically ‘Maine’ than this wedding. Lucky for me, their wedding party agreed to crowd onto the fishing pier for photos, despite the somewhat stinky lobster traps piled all around. What a great bunch! We also had a post-ceremony session outside the Atlantic Hall, a library and community space in the heart of the little enclave of Cape Porpoise. Cars honked, and their passengers cheered as they drove by at the sight of the wedding party, it was such a fun and festive atmosphere! We had a random stroke of luck when a gentleman in a ’57 Thunderbird even allowed us to use his classic car for a few photos. The little convertible was so small that Taylor’s dress couldn’t even fit inside!

Once again, I had the opportunity to work with Melanie of Blissful Beginnings  for this wedding. She helped assemble a wonderful team of wedding pros to put on a fabulous party. I’m not sure if she had anything to do with the weather, but that was perfect too; light clouds for photos, sun for the cocktail hour on the porch, and a fabulous sunset. We couldn’t have planned it more perfectly.

Their reception was held at the Kennebunk River Club, it was my first time shooting there, and hopefully not my last. The large space, porches, and docks allowed guests to spread out and relax, the view is amazing, and there was plenty of room for their live band, The Free Downloads, and a lot of dancers. The reception was catered by New Hampshire’s, The White Apron, the food was both delicious and a feast for the eyes! That amazing cake you see is from Wild Orchid Baking, and flowers were by the always impressive Flora Fauna, I loved the hints of yellow, paired with a nautical blue. Everything about this wedding seemed timeless, right down to Taylor’s gorgeous gown.

Thanks for choosing me to document your day Taylor and Clifford, I hope you’re enjoying your European honeymoon!
