On September 19th an email arrived in my inbox from a woman looking for a photographer for her wedding on October 20th, a mere month and a day later! This was somewhat unusual, I often book weddings a year out, but after a short conversation it was clear that this wasn’t a shotgun wedding by any stretch, but after a long engagement Tatiana and West decided they wanted to make their union official, and fast!
It all started when they went to the jewelry store to get Tatiana’s engagement ring cleaned, they walked out with wedding bands! The official wedding plans soon followed. From talking with the two of them it became clear that this was just meant to be, and all the puzzle pieces fell into place. I was available, their close family and friends were able to travel to Maine, and everyone pitched in to make their wedding a sweet, special affair.
They were married on a dock on Wilson Lake, at the home of Tatiana’s former boss. Like several of my weddings this year, it rained all morning, but cleared beautifully for their small ceremony. While their number of guests was about equal to a large wedding party, it was personal and intimate like no other wedding I’ve shot in recent years.
Thanks for inviting me into the circle on your wedding day Tatiana and West!
