We all must admit that sometimes things just don’t work out in our favor, take for example the plans for Rachel and Nate’s engagement session. Their engagement shoot dream consisted of a sweet snowy walk in the Maine woods, a cozy campfire outside, snuggles under wool plaid blankets, cocoa, a happy dog romping, rosy cheeks, and cold noses. Thanks to this year’s dismal winter (which was virtually devoid of snow), we ended up with pretty much only cold cheeks and a happy dog.
Their shoot was planned, cancelled, and rescheduled because of the lack of snow, and with their wedding just on the horizon, we had no choice but to squeeze it in mid-week in the rain. Not ideal, but they made the best of it! These two showed up fresh out of rush-hour Boston traffic (ick!) with huge hugs and big smiles on their faces. Plus, an adorable wheaten terrier named Thaxter in tow! No bridezilla here, just two happy people clearly in love! It was such a relief. Thanks to the less than stellar weather, we met up in front of the Portsmouth post office (which has a huge overhang!), and practiced a few poses. It was possibly the shortest engagement shoot ever, but it was quickly apparent these two don’t need much help looking cute and in love. We headed across the street to warm up over a pint and go over their wedding plans – since it is just over two weeks before I’ll be seeing them again!
If you’ve been invited, I can assure you that this wedding is going to be one epic party! I can’t wait to start the season off with Rachel and Nate!
