The 2019 wedding season is proving to be a wet one, but still fabulous overall with lovely couples who don’t let a few raindrops get them down.
Nicole and Ryan chose a picturesque mountain summit overlooking Penobscot Bay for their wedding a few short weeks ago. Point Lookout is such a fabulous venue, it never disappoints. Unfortunately, Mother Nature came along with a short and fast-moving storm that caused their ceremony to be moved inside. Ultimately, moving the ceremony indoors ended up being for the best because Maine’s unofficial state bird, the black fly, was out in full force!
With a professional group of vendors working their hardest to stay ahead of schedule (thanks Kimberly Doll and From This Day Forward!!) we were able to get the first-look and family photos done early, and that was a huge relief! Once the storm passed we had beautiful light for couple’s photos at the beach, and those pesky black flies were long gone. I don’t think I’d change a thing!
Lastly, I asked Nicole for a few thoughts about the day, I love her sincerity and huge heart! “I’m not sure we could capture in words how amazing the day (and weekend) was overall. We had family and friends travel at least 3 hours to Maine to spend the weekend with us celebrating, which I’m not sure they’ll understand how much that really meant to us. The day of the wedding we just felt so overwhelmed with the love we felt from all of our guests. From start to finish the day was just perfect.”
