Newagen Seaside Inn has an almost legendary status in Maine for classic coastal weddings, and amazingly I had never shot there before this past weekend. I was really missing out, this place is right of the the pages of DownEast magazine. Rocky coast, lobster boats, cottage dotted islands, and quiet old New England charm abound. It also helped that Michelle and Michael are two of the loveliest people I’ve ever photographed; laid back, in love, and adorable.
Michelle and Michael’s Newagen Seaside Inn, Southport Island wedding
Because I had never met Michelle and Mike in person I joined them on Friday for their wedding rehearsal and lobster-bake dinner. We also made some time for a few quick ‘engagement’ photos. It was a perfect warm-up for Saturday, and I enjoyed being able to scout out locations around Newgaen for photo ops after the wedding.
Michelle ordered her dress all the way from a dress maker in Australia called Grace Loves Lace. She had never even seen it in person, or tried it on; what luck the dress was not only stunning, but easy to move and dance in. She totally rocked the open back and long lace sleeves. Their florist, Boothbay Region Greenhouses, made an adorable flower crown for Michelle to wear that fit the style really nicely.
Michelle’s sister Janelle, made those cute personalized tank-tops that the girls wore to get ready in. I thought other couples might be interested in them, so I promised to post a link to her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/jmariehandmade They were so well-done, I’d love to see other bridal parties have them too!
What more can I say, but it was a perfect weekend, and I truly enjoyed being there to capture every minute of it! Congrats Michelle and Michael, and welcome back to New England!!
