Liza and Joe are two sweet Portland natives who grew up together, played on the same t-ball team, and then despite the fact that one went to Deering, the other Portland High, fell in love. The vast majority of my wedding couples are ‘from away’ (a Maine term for anyone who isn’t from Maine, whether it be New Hampshire or Australia), but boy do I love shooting real Maine couples, they’re so laid back and we always have fun strolling familiar streets together on our shoots.
For Liza and Joe’s engagement shoot we met up at the Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal in the Old Port for their session. We lucked out with the weather (after one reschedule), and were treated to a perfect evening, and a gorgeous sunset. After hitting the Old Port, and a quick wardrobe change in the Casco Bay Lines parking garage (!), we headed down to the Ocean Gateway terminal where they’ll be having their wedding reception next year. I’m pretty excited to shoot there, it will be a new venue for me and the dramatic, modern interior with the bay in the background is unique in Maine.
Thanks for such a fun shoot Liza and Joe, see you next year!!
