Like the majority of my couples, Lani and Will don’t live in the area, in fact Lani currently lives in China, and Will in DC. Since we’d never met in person until they were in town for the Thanksgiving holiday, we made time to get together to chat about their wedding, and so that I could learn more about them. They opted to have a quick mini-engagement session with me because they have had their engagement photos taken already, twice in fact! Their most recent shoot was an elaborate day-long Chinese engagement shoot which included multiple costume changes, hair, make-up, elaborate sets, and even lunch! I can’t wait to see the results!
We chose to meet up at a local coffee shop to talk wedding plans, and then we took a quick stroll around the area to shoot a few photos. I stress that the importance of an engagement shoot is the act of doing it; I like to see how people photograph, and by doing so they are more comfortable in front of the camera on their wedding day. It was chilly, and kind of a dreary day, but we still had fun! Lani and Will’s Peak Island wedding next year is sure to be a unique, but I won’t spill the beans about the plans!
