In front of 200 family and friends, Kristen and Will were wed on Saturday at South Church in historic Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Kristen and Will are such a lovely and laid back couple that documenting their day felt less like work, and more like hanging out with old friends.
Their reception was held at the Sheraton Harborside, the event coordinator remarked that we had worked together earlier this year, Nikki and Ken also had their reception there, and that these were her two favorite couples to work with all year. I’m so lucky to have such wonderful people choose me to be there to document their wedding days.
We had a touch of rain again this weekend, but it didn’t put a damper on the festivities at all. To start the party DJ Rick Bowie of Get Down Tonight Entertainment led the crowd in a massive ‘Sweet Caroline’ sing-off, which pitted the bride’s side of the room against the groom’s. It really got the crowd pumped for a long fun night of dancing, and for the record, Kristen’s side won! The dance-floor in the Sheraton’s ballroom is positively huge, but it was filled with dancers shoulder-to-shoulder all night long!
Kristen had no maid of honor, pointing out that all six of her bridesmaids are equally important to her, so all of them participated in the toast. I thought that this was so sweet, and each maid did a wonderful job of letting the gathered guests know just how Kristen has touched their lives in a special way. A wedding this large can often feel impersonal, but not this one, Will and Kristen have obviously surrounded themselves with people who deeply care for them, and were honored to be there to participate in their wedding day.
Have fun in Cabo you two!
