Sweethearts since their early teens, Adam and Kelly seemed destined for this day, and despite a few raindrops it ended up as perfectly as they had hoped.
Both their wedding ceremony and reception were held at The Landing at Pine Point in Scarborough, Maine; a venue which is new to me. The reception site is a vast former church, that has been converted into an amazing space for socializing, dancing, and celebrating. The Landing is run by The Black Tie Co., a caterer that I’ve worked with for many years, it was so nice to see familiar faces in a new space.
The intimate wedding ceremony was held in the rose garden out back; a secret, secluded spot that fit their style well. Their ceremony included the first butterfly release I’ve ever seen, which admittedly led to a few giggles when the butterflies were reluctant to leave their box.
Kelly and Adam opted for a ‘first look’, so afterwards we loaded up the party bus and headed to the beach to shoot the wedding party formals, unfortunately just as our feet hit the sand the rain started to come down. Kind-hearted beachgoers came forth with umbrellas, and cleared out of our way so that we could snap a few quick shots before we all booked it back to the bus. Luckily, the rain didn’t last long, and their ceremony was still held outside in the garden. Post-ceremony, the party moved inside, and didn’t stop until late into the evening. There was even a surprise choreographed dance for Adam performed on the stage by Kelly and her bridesmaids. Another first for me, and so much fun!
Kelly and Adam are two of the sweetest people I’ve had the opportunity to get to know, and their wedding was a lovely celebration of the many years that they’ve already spent together. Congrats you two, and welcome back to Maine!
