Kathryn and Cam’s, Point Lookout, Northport, Maine wedding
Kathryn and Cameron are your typical millennial couple having met on a dating app called Tinder while Kathryn was teaching in Boston and Cameron living in Portland. After messaging back and forth for several hours, they discovered that Cameron’s sister taught in Kathryn’s hometown, and at the same school as her mom. Kathryn realized that Cameron’s sister had actually been the one to tell her about the graduate teaching program she was currently in at Boston College! Due to this bizarre connection, they agreed to meet in person. Cameron initially wanted to meet for drinks on Friday, February 13, but Kathryn was too superstitious to have a first date on Friday the 13th. Thus, they met for brunch on Valentine’s Day instead. They instantly bonded over their shared love of brunch, skiing, spending time on the lake, and the great state of Maine.
Although Cameron eventually moved to Boston and they have called it their home for several years, it was an obvious choice to get married in Maine. They were both born and raised in Maine and has family there. Choosing Point Lookout Resort was the best of both worlds: the beautiful mountainous woods hugging the rocky coastline of the ocean does not get more Maine. They wanted their day to reflect their love of their home state and the values they share: family, love, and being in the outdoors.
According to the Kathryn, “Our favorite moments throughout our day include: seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle, repeating vows we had written ourselves, and of course, Cameron’s surprise serenade at the reception! (I still cannot believe how I never found out about that!) It was a surreal experience to be surrounded by so many friends and family from all parts of our lives.”
