I headed to Boston on Saturday for the wedding of Katherine and Greg. It was obvious on the drive down from Maine that we were in for a soaker of a day, luckily their plans called for both an indoor wedding and reception so we didn’t have to resort to a ‘plan b’. It had been almost a year since their Boston engagement shoot, so it was good to see them again!
It is said that rain on your wedding day is good luck, and Katherine and Greg didn’t let a little rain spoil their big day. I loved their willing attitudes, they were both up for whatever I wanted of them, so we were still able to get a few photos outside. Not only was it rainy, but the wind was whipping so hard off the water that while we were grabbing photos under the big rotunda arch that Boston Harbor Hotel is known for, Katherine’s long veil literally took flight! Luckily, a tourist who had stopped to watch the photo shoot caught it before it ended up under the wheels of a passing car!
The day was coordinated beautifully by Francie of Tangorra Wedding Planning, thanks to her, and despite the weather, everything went off without a hitch. Guests piled into charming trolleys to take them from the church, St. Cecilia’s, back to the reception at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Cocktail hour was under the rotunda, and dinner and dancing in the Wharf Room. Everywhere you looked there were panoramic views of Boston Harbor, so gorgeous! Their choice of a live band, Legit was superb! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, there is nothing like a live band to get a crowd on its feet and dancing.
Thanks for being such great sports you two! Enjoy your honeymoon on the beach!
