Winter engagement shoots are becoming more popular, and I’m loving them! Portsmouth, New Hampshire with its old world feel, is a great location for e-sessions regardless of the weather, but it really shines in the quiet of winter. I just love that town; the old homes the open right onto the streets, the colorfully painted businesses, the brick and weathered clapboards, and don’t forget the bridges and water. So classic New England, and so perfect for Kara and Dan who will be getting married in New Hampshire later this year.
Kara and Dan’s engagement shoot was really special. When editing the photos I just couldn’t get over how they look at each other. Everyone should be so lucky to find someone who looks at them ‘that way’. Such love and adoration, but easy and relaxed at the same time. They claimed to not like being in front of the camera, but they were both great subjects! We kept moving because it was cold, and we made a nice circuit around town hitting all the iconic spots.
Also, I must give a big thank you Mother Nature for the most perfect dusting of snow, and little peeks of sunlight for this cold, yet fun winter engagement shoot. The temperature plummeted from just around freezing to single digits just hours after our shoot. I like shooting in winter, but not when I can’t feel my fingers!
Thanks for making the trip up to New Hampshire Kara and Dan, see you again when the grass is green again!
