It may have been one of the hottest and most humid days that I have ever photographed a wedding in, but Kalley and Chris’ wedding was still a blast! Their families came together to celebrate on the grounds of the Hansel family orchard in North Yarmouth, Maine. That AMAZING barn you see in the photos had just been completed in time for the wedding. So new that it even smelled like fresh-cut wood!
The barn was decorated impeccably by Heather Cuzzi of Cairn Events. Despite the large space, it felt at once cozy and intimate thanks to the long family-style tables and lush florals. I only found out later in the evening that Kalley and Chris’ families hadn’t spent much time together prior to the wedding (due to geography), but they got along so fabulously that I would never have guessed that they weren’t lifelong friends. I can only describe them as warm and fun-loving, just look at those smiles!
Later in the evening, the storm clouds rolled in, which broke the heat and humidity, but also the power! They danced on regardless!
Lastly, I asked Kalley if she wanted to write anything to accompany these photos, I think her sweet words sum it up!
“Chris and I were very fortunate to have such a beautiful and meaningful venue and couldn’t be happier with the way our wedding turned out. We are so grateful to both our family as well as all the vendors for all the hard work that went into the preparation and execution of our big day. Surrounded by our friends and family we are so excited to start our lives together!”
