After a long, cold, snowy winter, spring is finally here! I kicked off the 2014 wedding season with a small, intimate wedding at On the Marsh in Kennebunk, what a lovely way to ease back into weddings. This season is going to be a busy one, with lots of big weddings, so this was a very pleasant way to start off.
Julia and Tony were a joy to be around, and despite having to switch up the plans for an outdoor ceremony, they took everything in stride. Spring may be here, but it was still too chilly, windy and soggy for the ceremony to be held on the lawn. That didn’t seem to bother these two at all though. Just one look at Tony’s smile and anyone could see that it didn’t matter one bit where his wedding was held, having Julia there was all he needed or could ever want. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a groom so adorably joyful on their wedding day. His smile was infectious, and Julia was a stunning bride. The lace detail on her European gown was stunning, and it was also removable, so cool!
These two live abroad, so we met up a few days before the wedding at On the Marsh with along with their planner, Melanie Voros of Blissful Beginnings Weddings, DJ Brian Zutter , and florist Pat Cowhig of Flora Ventures, to have what Melanie dubbed, a ‘wedding slam’. Plans for the day were ironed out in a matter of hours, and it was a lot of fun to be a part of the process.
Thanks for bringing me on to be a part of your team Julia and Tony, and all my best in the years to come!
