Weddings often take a year or more to plan, and it is so gratifying for me to see them come together. I hear about the early plans during the first meetings with a couple, and by the time we schedule the engagement shoot the guest list is getting narrowed down, the dress has been chosen and the colors agreed upon. I love walking into a reception site on a wedding day to see how it has all come together, since each wedding is unique as the couple. Jenny and Brandon chose the Union Bluff Meeting House in York Beach, Maine for their late summer wedding, and all the planning came together perfectly.
Their wedding day was a warm one, and the sun beat down right up until the ceremony was to start, it actually looked like it might rain, but instead we just heard distant thunder and got dramatic skies. Lucky for us! The sunset was soft and warm, and their wedding party agreed to leave cocktail hour to head to the nearby Short Sands Beach for a few group photos. Thanks guys, it was worth it!
The crowd was wowed by the high energy Bob Charest Band, but the song that stole the evening was (a very customized version of) Let’s Get Together from ‘The Parent Trap’ sung by Jenny’s maid of honor, Aislinn and matron of honor, Michelle. And while they may have been a bit off-key, the personalized lyrics were sung so sweetly and with such love that belly laughs were mixed with happy tears. Jenny and Brandon have chosen lives of teaching and service to the community, and it is clear that the they have surrounded themselves with equally kind, compassionate and genuine people.
I wish all the best in the years to come for such a sweet and loving couple. Congrats Jenny and Brandon!
