Gwen and Andy’s Spruce Point Inn, Boothbay Harbor, Maine wedding

Gwen and Andy tied the knot at the Spruce Point Inn on a beautiful Saturday in July. And when I say they ‘tied the knot’ I mean it; Andy and Gwen love to sail, and there were nautical knots wherever you looked. In fact, that’s their sailboat in the background of the first photo, it was moored just off-shore, and brought Andy and his groomsmen to the dock for the ceremony. Knots adorned Andy’s cuff links, Gwen’s bracelet, the ring bearer pillow, their amazing cake, the ceremony chairs, and along with miniature sailboats, they decorated the tables at the reception. Even more impressive is that these were all handmade by Gwen and Andy. Except for the cake of course!

Unlike most brides, Gwen opted for navy boat shoes instead of heels. I’ve never shot a couple who wore matching shoes to their wedding before. So cute!

The Spruce Point in is a great location for such a seaside themed event. The pool deck ceremony site could not possibly get any closer to the ocean without the guests getting wet. And while there had been a threat of a storm earlier in the day, the weather could not have been more perfect. It was truly a classic Maine wedding, in a classic Maine town.

All my best Gwen and Andy, I hope you’re having an amazing time in Alaska!
