What a way to kick off the 2019 season! Cashel and Joe’s early spring Friday wedding was a celebration of love, community, and good humor. After a relaxed morning getting ready at the AC Marriott for the ladies, and The Blind Pig barber shop for the guys, a sweet group of family and friends from all over the country and the UK came together to celebrate at Portland’s Ocean Gateway. Mother Nature brought some classic British-style gray, wet weather, but it really didn’t seem to bother anyone. We were graciously offered The Portland Club as a location for formal photos (thanks Amy @ Black Tie!), and the classic architecture accentuated the couple’s timeless beauty and style.
The ceremony was set against the breathtaking backdrop of the misty Casco Bay, and included readings from both the bride and groom’s families, a touching message from the groom’s brother, and prayers led by each member of the bridal party. An incredible dinner by the Black Tie Company accompanied by hilarious, heartfelt toasts (and a cameo by Jimmy Glass on video!) led straight into dancing. Guests had submitted their favorite party tracks ahead of time, and DJ Joe kept the dance floor hopping well after dark.
Congratulations again to Cashel and Joe, I wish you all the happiness this world has to offer!
