Before Caitlin and Anthony were even engaged, Caitlin had in mind the perfect location to have their engagement photos taken: Prouts Neck in Scarborough, Maine. And after touring numerous possible venues for their 2014 Maine destination wedding and reception, Caitlin and Anthony came to the conclusion that The Black Point Inn, also on Prouts Neck was the place for them. It is only fitting, as Anthony’s family has been coming to Scarborough for generations. This is an area that isn’t too far from where I live, but a place I’d never really explored, I’m glad I listened to their suggestions for a location as the walk along the water is amazing. The cliffs dramatically drop off into the surf, as the secluded path winds its way around the neck. This is where Winslow Homer worked, and took his inspiration from, and it is easy to see why.
Earlier in the evening, we started their engagement session at Anthony’s parent’s summer home on the Scarborough marsh. Despite a brutal mosquito assault, we had fun picking our way through the fields, along the water’s edge, under the trees, and eventually taking off in an old row boat on the water of the marsh. These two are warm, sweet, and very much in love; the type of couple that makes my job look easy. See you two next year!
