It was a picture perfect day in the the White Mountains for Brenda and Dave’s Mt. Washington Hotel wedding and reception. While rain threatened on-and-off all day long, it only added to the mystical beauty of this unique and historic place. All day the mountains maintained a deep blue hue, thanks to the low cloud cover, while the sun shone down on the hotel at the same time. I don’t think I’ve ever shot in more perfect light, and it was perfect all day long. A photographer’s dream day to say the least. Another photographer’s dream is a couple like Brenda and Dave. Fun, sweet, and relaxed they made my job look very easy, plus they left lots of time for photos thanks to their first look and relaxed schedule. Speaking of the first look, it was hilariously interrupted by Dave’s father calling right at the moment Dave laid eyes on Brenda for the first time. These two are so laid back that Dave took the call, and Brenda just laughed it off.
The wedding was a destination wedding, and with only 40 guests present it was practically the size as some big wedding parties alone. What a refreshing experience for me! But being a small wedding didn’t mean that they skimped on the details in the least bit. Beautiful flowers, a unique invitation, a fabulous dress, and a very unique bow-tie for Dave all added to this classy event. Dave’s General Knot & Co., tie was crafted in New England from vintage fabric, and I’d never seen anything like it before. During cocktail hour guests played croquet and a giant version of Bananagrams on the lawn. Everyone had a blast.
It was nice to see a familiar face, DJ Scott Langlois there providing a fun playlist for the guests, and despite the small group, the dance floor was plenty crowded all night long.
What a fun day for me, and for Dave and Brenda’s family and friends, I was so thrilled to be a part of it. Thanks you two, and have an amazing Hawaiian honeymoon!
