After meeting Ron and Gabrielle for the first time, I just knew that I was going to love their wedding. It was laid-back, yet sophisticated, and elegantly simple. I also have to admit, that this is the first wedding where the ceremony reading was from a Massachusetts supreme court decision, and not 1 Corinthians! (For […]

  • Jennifer Nightingale - What a classic photo! Gosh Gordon looks so grown up and sophisticated.

  • Jennifer Nightingale - So touching. So Sweet!

  • Alicia Williams-Pedersen - What a great idea for the ring bearer! Thanks for posting this, Alex. I am checking out Etsy right now for our wedding in October!

Camp Ellis is the beach-front portion of my little adopted hometown of Saco. Only a couple of miles down the beach from the craziness of Old Orchard, it’s a quiet, almost time-forgotten gem. Yesterday was a perfect beach day at about 90 degrees, and even in mid-afternoon there was plenty of parking in the public […]

  • Jenny - Beautiful pictures – I cannot wait until the big event!

The weekend was a busy one for me; a wedding, and two engagement shoots. Suffice to say, it’s the busiest time of year for a wedding photographer! But shooting is what I love to do, so it doesn’t really feel like work. The post-production work all week however is a necessary evil that’s hard to […]

It was another perfect weekend in Maine, we have been so lucky this summer! Nikki and Joe were married in York Beach at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Their reception was held at Laudholm Farm in Wells, it was the first time I’d shot at Laudholm Farm and I can highly recommend it […]

  • Nikki - Alex – thank you so much for doing such an amazing job at our wedding! We are just back from our honeymoon (and yes, it was relaxing!) and we delayed the gratification of sifting through photos. What fun! You and Danielle were incredible to work with and we are beyond thankful for your professionalism, skill, and fabulously fun attitude! Thanks again! Nikki and Joe

I love weddings, I really do. I think to be a successful wedding photographer you must. I love weddings because I get to spend the day with  happy people in love, people like Charlie and Karina. They are a pair that compliment each other so well, it was such an honor to be asked to […]

  • Martha - Hi Alexandra!
I love all the photos, you´re the best!
About the peruvian dance, named “Alcatraz”, it´s a very popular dance in Peru and it has an Afro-Peruvian origin. It owed its name to a pelican feather dress that the woman wore strapped to her back at waist level, the man had to try to lit the longest feather on fire with a candle, but without losing the rhythm. The woman´s movements make almost impossible for man to achieve his purpose. By repeating the music, the roles were reversed. More recently, the feathers have been replaced by a cone of paper.
We did our best effort to dance like this people :). You can see real good dancers at:

  • Alexandra - Thanks for the explanation Martha!

I was so excited about the portrait session we did after Ashley and Ross’s wedding and reception, that I never posted photos from the wedding itself! Ross and Ashley were married at Joseph’s in Old Orchard Beach, which is a quiet oasis in the middle of what can be a pretty rowdy town. If you’re […]
