I’ve always said that island weddings are special, and Anna and Dan’s wedding day was no exception. Their wedding was held on Friday, and it was a ‘Chamber of Commerce day’ on the coast of Maine. With warm temps, light breezes off the ocean, blue skies, and a beautiful couple; I’m not sure that it could have gotten any more perfect. Just take a look at Dan and his groomsmen, they turned a lot of heads in their summery suits and mirrored aviator sunglasses on their way to the island from Portland. Anna and her bridesmaid’s traveled in style in a classic Chevy from the cottage where they were getting ready, to the wedding ceremony site. Tourists and locals alike stopped to watch the wedding day procession.
Anna and Dan are such a sweet and easy-going couple I felt like I was at a wedding of two friends. The day unfolded without any real drama, just a quick repair to Anna’s amazing necklace and a button on a bridesmaid’s dress and we were off and running. Anna and Dan opted for a ‘first look’ so we were able to get the majority of their formals done before the wedding. This is such a great way to ensure that a couple actually gets to greet all of their guests and enjoy their wedding day to its fullest. The day also went so smoothly since all events were within easy walking distance from each other and the Casco Bay Lines ferry dock.
The Inn on Peaks Island was where their recpetion was held. which is just down Island Avenue from the Lion’s Club property, where their ceremony was. The beautiful day turned into a beautiful evening, complete with a full moon, and amazing sunset.
Congrats Anna and Dan, I hope you’re having the time of your lives in Costa Rica!
