Sarah and Chris may be remembered on this blog from their unique engagement shoot aboard their sailboat ‘Whomper’, so a Newport, Rhode Island wedding was a natural choice for them. Newport is known as the sailing capital of the US, and they have sailing in their blood.
Their ceremony was held at the Our Lady of Mercy chapel of Salve Regina University and their reception was under the tent at the amazing Castle Hill Inn, It was a thrill for me to travel to Newport for a wedding, I love shooting in new locations, especially ones as beautiful as this. The chapel at Salve Regina was so beautiful, and unlike many churches, it was positively filled with light. Castle Hill overlooks the harbor and the sweeping Jamestown bridge, it was a perfect location for photos.
It has to be acknowledged that this was one funky weather day, we were on the edge of a storm system, and you can see through the photos how the light changed once the rain came and went. It positively poured, but only for a brief time, then the clouds opened and we were treated to a warm sunset. It looks like two completely different days in the pictures, but I can assure you it was not.
Sarah and Chris chose the band ‘Kahootz‘ to entertain their guests, and boy did they ever! Live bands are always a blast, and Kahootz really brought it that night.
I hope you’re having an amazing time in Tahiti and Bora Bora you two, safe travels home! So sorry I couldn’t join you, ha!
