Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine was a prefect setting for Sarah and Ben’s wedding and reception last weekend. Pinelands is one of my all-time favorite wedding venues; especially in the fall, and coincidentally, this past Saturday was the first full day of fall. In some of the photos below you can see that the trees surrounding the garden where Sarah and Ben exchanged their vows are already starting to show their fall colors. Gorgeous!
Sarah and Ben are a sweet and laid-back couple, and their wedding really reflected this. Each only had one attendant, and they put aside some traditional wedding formalities in order to enjoy their day to the fullest. One example of this was their willingness to have a ‘first look’. The first look allowed us to get their formal family portraits done well before the ceremony, that way they were able to enjoy their cocktail hour along with their guests. First looks are a newer trend in wedding photography, and I absolutely love them for this very reason. Why should a couple miss their cocktail hour, that’s one of the most fun parts of the day!
Sarah may look like a traditional bride in white, but under her gown she wore a cool pair of knee high leather Frye Boots. Her maid-of-honor, sister Serena donned her own pair of cowboy boots to complete the look. Another surprise was Sarah’s custom baby-blue garter that held as flask of whiskey! I’d never seen one of those before!
Thanks so much Ben and Sarah for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day, it was beautiful and fun, just like you! I hope you’re having a relaxing time on the beach and enjoying your honeymoon.
