Kayla and Tyler’s autumn Portland, Maine engagement session

Portland is always a popular spot for engagement sessions, especially for my couples who have roots in the area, but have moved away, just like Kayla, of Kayla and Tyler! Kayla is actually from Peaks Island, but like a lot of young Mainers’ she moved away for college and career. It was actually at college at Plymouth State that she and Tyler met,. These two sweethearts have been together ever since, and most recently they added little Penny to their family. We met up on Wharf Street for their e-session, and finished up at sunset on the East End beach, a perfect autumn engagement session!

Here is their proposal story in Kayla’s words, it is especially sweet, I hope you enjoy it!:

“For the past 3 or so years we have been making a fall trip to the Mt. Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, one of my absolute favorite places on the planet. He had suggested going last year in the beginning of December and I just assumed it was for our annual “dating” anniversary. When we arrived we got a quick app at the bar the looks over the mountain range and then he said come on I want to go look outside before it starts to get dark. I didn’t have a jacket and it was freezing that day! I insisted on going back to the room quickly and he said no no it will be dark, so completely aggravated i went out on the porch. We walked to the very end and he was just standing there, i said ok come on I am freezing lets go back inside. Another couple started to approach us and she insisted that we walk even further down the porch i stomped my feet and followed…. and then he quickly dropped to one knee. It was so beautiful, the hotel was decorated for Christmas and the sun was just setting. I was absolutely shocked!!”
