Saturday’s New York City engagement session for Jenna and Matt started off near the boat house in Central Park. The weather was sunny and warm, thankfully the complete opposite of the day before! I don’t think there was a single Mannhattanite inside that day, everyone was out soaking up the sun, it finally felt like spring after a really long winter. I even saw a few tiny crocuses poking up through the soil. This is the day I was hoping for when I booked my trip to NYC.
Despite the fact that I worked in the city for almost two years, I rarely ventured too far into the park, it was always work, work, work. Since I never got a chance to explore Central Park very thoroughly, tromping around the paths and thoroughfares with Jenna and Matt on Saturday was a fun adventure. We even managed to find a few cool spots that weren’t totally overrun with tourists, dogs walkers, and sun-worshipers.
These two were guests at Katherine and Greg’s wedding in Boston last year, and it was so great to see their smiling faces again. I think that a lot of the folks hanging out in the park thought that they were models on a photo shoot, since they’re just so adorable together.
After we finished up shooting in Central Park, we scooted downtown to Lower Manhattan to shoot along the river front. It had a totally different vibe, and we made some cool, funky shots. Shooting in New York really ended up being a great experience for me, and a really nice change of pace from Maine.
