Caitlin and Anthony’s Black Point Inn, Scarborough, Maine wedding and reception

Caitlin and Anthony are two of the luckiest people I’ve ever met. Not only did they find each other, but they somehow managed to have their dream wedding outside, even though a humongous wind and rain storm was predicted to occur exactly when their ceremony was scheduled to start.

The story of this wedding day was the rain: the impending rain, the relentless rain, then the rainbow. After the rainbow came the moving of chairs inside and outside, inside then outside again. There was lots of staring at radar screens, hoping and praying. Thankfully, mother nature gave them a break, and the skies cleared enough for their guests to hurry onto the wide lawn to witness the nuptials.  Granted most of the chairs didn’t make it back outside again, but it was wonderful, and intimate; with guest crowding around the couple in a large semi-circle of love. Dramatic clouds hung just over the ocean creating a magnificent backdrop that could not have been more perfect.

Caitlin and Anthony chose the historic Black Point Inn in Scarborough, Maine for their retro-deco style wedding and reception. The Inn is very near and dear to Anthony’s family, especially his grandma who was in attendance. It also must be said that mucho kudos go out to event coordinator Landace, and all her staff for being so flexible and accommodating because of the weather, it isn’t always the case with venues!

Despite the strange weather, and even perhaps because of it, I must say that this wedding was pure perfection, and Caitlin was one of the most stunning brides I’ve ever seen. Her amazing beaded gown weighed no less than 15 pounds, I assume she must have been exhausted by the end of the night from wearing it! Her lovely flowers were from Marcia Davis, and her jewelry exquisite; especially the unique headband.

After the stationed dinner, wedding guests rocked out for hours to the Silver Arrow Band, who came all the way up from New York to put on one heck of a show! They brought the horns right out in the middle of the dancers at several points during the night. Hiring a live band for your wedding is always a way to guarantee your guests will have a blast, and your dance-floor will always be full!

Thanks so much Anthony and Caitlin for inviting me along to document your day, I hope Italy is proving amazing! -alex
