Alaina and Mike’s Point Lookout, Lincolnville, Maine wedding and reception

I must apologize in advance for the crazy number of photos that I’ve posted below. I had a hard time getting this edit down to a reasonable number of images for my blog, and I’m afraid I probably failed. Oh well, with the combination of an amazing mountaintop wedding ceremony location, loads of well thought out details, adorable flower girls and ring bearers, a rockin’ band, a photo booth, and a crazy fun bunch of family and friends, there were just too many photo opportunities at Alaina and Mike’s wedding.

I could go on and on about these two; such a fun-loving couple, and their wedding ended up being just as amazing as they had promised me (and they had made a lot of promises when I went down to NYC for their engagement session!). I mean have you ever seen a wedding ceremony end with the guests waving personalized rally towels? How about a save-the-date in the form of a scratch-off ticket? I haven’t, and I go to a lot of weddings!

Alaina and Mike chose Point Lookout in Lincolnville, Maine for their July 4th holiday wedding weekend extravaganza. Guests from here, and abroad were treated to a ceremony location like no other. Point Lookout sits on a mountain high above Penobscot Bay. Luckily, we weren’t socked in by fog (as is common), but man, was it hot! Maine has had a very strange summer this year, and it felt more like Florida than Maine up there. My favorite part of their very personalized wedding ceremony involved all the young people in their families; the kids had prepared, and then read aloud their advice to the newly married couple. It was so sweet, and a great way to involve young people in the wedding. I’d love to see this become a trend, as young people and kids are often left feeling excluded at weddings, but they are part of the family too, and shouldn’t feel left out. From the teenagers down to the littlest flower girl; all the kids had a wonderful tidbit of wisdom (and humor) to share with Alaina and Mike.

The band Alaina and Mike chose to entertain their guests is called Flipside, and they were awesome! So awesome that I have already referred them to one of my 2014 couples looking for a fun band with strong vocals and a horn section. I hope I get to experience them again next year, if only I could dance at weddings I would have been out on the floor shaking my booty rather than taking photos.

Congratulations Alaina and Mike, I hope you had the day you’d been dreaming of for so long!
